Job Summary
The Business Official (BO) is one of the key positions of a potential Global Health Security project in Ghana. Reporting to the Country Project Director and working closely with the project’s team, the BO will provide leadership in comprehensive management of business support and compliance functions of Ghana project. The BO is responsible for tracking and monitoring the overall financial and administrative status of the project and ensuring that funds expended are compliant with FHI 360 policies and U.S. Government (USG) regulations and policies. Provides leadership and guidance for compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP), GAS (Government Auditing Standards), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Develops financial risk management and control strategies; reviews and approve recommendations for financial planning and control, provides relevant fiscal information to executive management team; develops and manages financial analysis models; develops and implements effective and efficient business processes and procedures; develops and manages internal financial audits; develops formal reporting system to communicate results of audit activities to management and regulatory compliance agencies. Manages the activities of the finance staff and selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
This position is based in Ghana and reports to the country Project Director. The position is pending on the award of the project to FHI 360 and availability of funds.
Accountabilities
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in Finance Administration or similar field
- Experience
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience providing accounting and financial management services (including 3+ years of line management experience)
- Demonstrable understanding of accounting procedures
- Familiar with USG rules and regulations, and experience in a similar position on a USG-funded project preferred; CDC experience is a plus
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Fluency in written and spoken English. knowledge of local language/s of Ghana is preferred
- Applicants must have the legal authorization to work in Ghana
