Through cutting-edge, evidence-based and youth-led research, sustained advocacy, training and mentorship we equip the youth with appropriate capacity, platforms and resources to enhance their socio-economic and mental wellbeing, and to advocate for inclusion and responsiveness to youth development needs and rights by those responsible for upholding such rights.

About The Position

The Program Officer – M&E is a critical role as YBF pursues results-based development programming and shall be integral to the Youth Bridge Research Institute. Under the supervision of the Senior Programs Manager for Research, the Program Officer shall contribute to the design of performance management processes and lead the operationalization of institutional and project/program Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems.

Specific Tasks

The primary responsibility the Program Officer – M&E is to manage M&E and socioeconomic databases at YBF. More specifically the Officer will

  • Contribute to finalization of data collection tools (data sheets and questionnaires)
  • Lead the M&E data collection process
  • Lead the implementation of socioeconomic surveys
  • Recruit and train field enumerators and supervisors for surveys
  • Conduct data quality control to ensure data integrity
  • Generate results from the databases and contribute to routine project/institutional reports
  • Be the go-to person for all statistics about project and YBF

    • Duty Station
    This is a locally recruited position to be based in Accra, Ghana. Ghanaian and individuals with the requisite work permit are encouraged to apply for the position.

    General Information
    The initial contract period is for 1 (one) year, renewable based on performance and availability of funds.


    Education Required: Bachelor / Diploma

    Requirements
    • Should have a Diploma or a First Degree in Social Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Agricultural Sciences or any other related fields.
    • Should have prior experience (min 1 year) or in-depth understanding of M&E process.
    • Should have good knowledge and experience with database management application software such as STATA, R, SPSS, Microsoft Excel, PowerBi, Kobo Toolbox etc.
    • Should have good understanding of the management of socioeconomic databases
    • Should be able to conduct basic analysis and interpretation of socioeconomic data
    • Must have working knowledge English language
    • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Must be willing to work extensively and beyond office hours.
