Position OverviewAs a Field Carbon Monitor, you will oversee carbon sequestration activities, monitor land use practices, and collect field data. This role involves direct collaboration with local farmers and communities to help build a sustainable future.
Key ResponsibilitiesFarmer Onboarding: Register farmers, educate them about the SikaFields Project, and maintain ongoing engagement.
Data Collection & Mapping: Collect accurate data and map farmland using Insyt software, ensuring data privacy and boundary accuracy.
Tree Monitoring: Tag and assess tree conditions (alive, damaged, dead) across sample plots in assigned locations.
Carbon Measurement Techniques: Apply techniques to measure carbon in soils, biomass, or emissions (e.g., soil sampling, remote sensing).
Understanding of Carbon Accounting Standards: Demonstrate familiarity with globally recognized carbon accounting frameworks such as Open Forest Protocol (OFP), Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Gold Standard, and Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).
Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with local communities and farmers, assist in preparing reports, and support project evaluation.
Continuous Onboarding: Engage and onboard new farmers within designated zones to expand the project’s reach.
Education Required: Bachelor / Diploma
