Job Overview:
The Procurement and Supply Specialist is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process within the organization. This includes sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services, and overseeing inventory management. The role is integral to ensuring cost-effective procurement, timely supply chain operations, and high-quality standards for all purchased goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to meet business needs.
- Analyze market trends, product specifications, and vendor capabilities to identify cost-effective sourcing solutions.
- Prepare and implement procurement plans aligned with company goals and operational needs.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintain and manage supplier relationships, ensuring long-term partnerships and mutual benefit.
- Manage purchase orders from requisition through to delivery.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods and services, coordinating with vendors, logistics, and internal teams.
- Monitor supplier performance, addressing issues such as late deliveries or quality concerns.
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained.
- Work closely with the logistics and warehousing teams to manage the flow of goods.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to identify inventory needs and forecast demand.
- Ensure purchases are made within budget and contribute to cost savings where possible.
- Track and analyze procurement expenditures and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Contribute to the overall cost optimization strategies of the supply chain.
- Ensure that procurement activities are compliant with local and international regulations and organizational policies.
- Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including contracts, supplier agreements, and audit trails.
- Generate regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in procurement and supply chain operations.
- Implement best practices in procurement, vendor management, and logistics.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.
