  • JOB SUMMARY

    The Assistant General Manager of Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operational functions of key departments within the hotel, ensuring high standards of service delivery, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency. The role includes the supervision of the Housekeeping, Facilities and Maintenance, Front Office, Procurement, and Food & Beverage departments. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

    KEY  RESPONSIBILITIES:

     Housekeeping Department Oversight:

  • Ensure that housekeeping standards are consistently maintained, with a focus on cleanliness, guest comfort, and efficiency.
  • Work closely with the Housekeeping Manager to ensure that rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas meet the hotel's cleanliness standards.
  • Implement and monitor inventory controls for linen, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities.
  • Address any guest concerns regarding room cleanliness or housekeeping services in a timely and professional manner.
  • Facilities and Maintenance Department Oversight:

  • Supervise the maintenance of the hotel's physical infrastructure, including guest rooms, public spaces, and technical systems (eg Plumbing, electrical and among others).
  • Ensure the timely completion of preventive maintenance schedules and any required repairs, minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to maintain safety standards, energy efficiency, and compliance with local regulations.
  • Address any facility-related guest complaints or issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • 3. Front Office Department Oversight:

  • Oversee all front office operations, including guest check-in/check-out, reservations, and guest services.
  • Ensure that the guest experience is seamless and exceeds expectations from arrival to departure.
  • Support and train front office staff to deliver exceptional customer service and handle any guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests.
  • Implement policies and procedures to optimize the use of hotel management systems, ensuring accurate billing and room allocation.
  • 4. Procurement Department Oversight:

  • Oversee the procurement of supplies, materials, and equipment required by all departments, ensuring that quality standards are met.
  • Work with the Procurement Manager to negotiate contracts with vendors, ensuring the best pricing and service levels for the hotel.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely ordering to avoid disruptions to hotel operations.
  • 5. Food & Beverage Department Oversight:

  • Collaborate with the F&B Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the hotel's dining facilities, room service, and banquet services.
  • Monitor service standards in all F&B outlets, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in menu planning, special event coordination, and overall guest experience in the F&B department.
  • Ensure profitability of the F&B operations by implementing cost controls and monitoring revenue generation.
  • General Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all operational departments to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction through feedback, surveys, and reviews, addressing concerns promptly and implementing changes where necessary.
  • Lead daily operational meetings with department heads to ensure coordination and efficient hotel operations.
  • Assist in budget preparation, cost analysis, and financial performance tracking for all operational departments.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for departmental managers, ensuring that all teams are motivated and performing at a high level.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with the hotel's goals and vision.
  • Ensure all departments are compliant with local laws, safety standards, and hotel policies.

  • Education Required: Master’s Degree

    Requirements
    • Minimum of Master's Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience in hotel operations, with a focus on multi-departmental oversight.
    • Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
