The position of Finance Officer consists of market surveys, analyzing financial information, purchases, and preparing financial reports, keeping assets record and reconciling budget and expenses within the organization.

Tasks

The tasks of the Officer shall include:

  • Assist with general accounting procedures.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports to senior management or other stakeholders.
  • Prepare a monthly Bank Reconciliation Statement for review.
  • Assist in establishing yearly and quarterly budget and making relevant and necessary changes    throughout the year.
  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow forecasts, assess cash inflows and outflows.
  • Monitor actual performance against the budgeted targets and provide analysis on variances for review.
  • Prepare vouchers and cheques for the release of funds, general expenses and procure logistics as approved.
  • Ensure maximum compliance of tax laws, especially with withholding taxes in all purchases.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports and filings within the prescribed deadlines.
  • Update the Fixed Asset Register by ensuring that it agrees to the ledger balance(s).
  • Prepare and update the Accounts Receivable Reports.
  • File payment vouchers and receipts and keep soft copies of all payments and receipts using Excel or any accounting software.
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Assist in monitoring and managing cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for the business.
  • Helps in quarterly inventory counts and update the inventory records into the ERP Software.
  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to assist the auditors by assembling and providing all necessary financial documents and  information for auditing.

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree

    Requirements
    • A minimum qualification of a Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or ACCA/ICA Level II.
    • Three (3) years prior experience in Accounting and Finance role.
    • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Excel.
    • Ability to use Accounting Software such as ERP will be added advantage.
