Job Summary:
The Associate Director for Finance and Operations will provide overall financial and operational management for ELEVATE Nutrition Ghana. Responsibilities include monitoring of project finances, preparing project budgets, managing financial reporting to clients, ensuring adherence to funder rules and regulations, coordinating with headquarters on financial information, acting as a resource for project staff on finance- and operations-related issues, and providing leadership and support for project operations and procurements.
The Associate Director for Finance and Operations will be based at the ELEVATE Nutrition main project office in Tamale, Ghana. This position will report to the Chief of Party for ELEVATE Nutrition Ghana (based in Tamale, Ghana) and have a dotted supervision line to the FHI 360 Country Office Director for Finance and Operations (based in Accra, Ghana). The position will work closely with FHI 360 Country Office staff to follow central-level policies and procedures. The position will also work closely with the ELEVATE Nutrition headquarters Finance and Operations team to ensure appropriate internal control and operational process are in place for the successful implementation of the project.
Essential Job Functions:
Duties and Responsibilities
Education Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- MBA/MA/MS or a related advanced Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years’ experience in a finance and operations position with an international organization.
- Demonstrated experience in managing USAID funds.
- Strong working knowledge of USAID financial management policies, procedures and practices.
- Must have demonstrable hands-on experience with accounting systems and high-degree of competency in MS Excel and accounting software packages.
- Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in supervision and managing a team required.
- Excellent communication skills in English required.
- Experience working with an international non-governmental organization preferred.
