Job Summary:
The Nutrition Advisor will provide maternal, infant and young child nutrition (MIYCN) technical guidance, leadership and support in designing and implementing multisectoral nutrition activities for ELEVATE Nutrition Ghana. The Nutrition Advisor will provide technical assistance to national- and sub-national government actors to deliver equitable and quality multisectoral nutrition services that promote household resilience and food security, including support to program and policy design, planning, budgeting, and implementing. Additionally, the Nutrition Advisor will lead the design and implementation of ELEVATE Nutrition’s nutrition advocacy activities aimed at increasing prioritization, funding and disbursement for multisectoral nutrition activities and contribute to the design and implementation of the project’s research agenda and collaborating, learning and adapting (CLA) activities.
The Nutrition Advisor will report to the Deputy Chief of Party - Technical and will collaborate closely with technical team members in the ELEVATE Nutrition Ghana and headquarters offices. This position will be based in Tamale, Ghana.
Essential Job Functions:
Duties and Responsibilities
Education Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Sciences or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in nutrition, public health or related field for donor-funded projects, preferably within multisectoral and/or nutrition programs.
- In-depth knowledge of MIYCN.
- Relevant experience in providing MIYCN technical assistance to government entities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Keen attention to detail for ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel within Ghana, especially the five northern regions.
