  • JOB OVERVIEW
    We are seeking an experienced and skilled Horticulture and Landscape Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining functional outdoor spaces, including gardens, landscapes, and horticultural displays. The ideal candidate should have a passion for horticulture and landscape design, excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement horticultural displays and landscapes, including: Plant selection and placement, Soil preparation and management, Irrigation system design and installation
  • Ability to create 3D drawings and designs
  • Plan and supervise the annual, seasonal, and daily work of the horticultural staff
  • Routinely inspect landscape, flower sites, and signage as effective planning and supervision requires.
  • Maintain and care for existing gardens and landscapes, including pruning, weeding and pest management
  • Ability to understand and work from detailed blueprints, sketches, or schematics
  • Provide expert advice on horticulture and landscape design to clients and stakeholders
  • Supervise the design of flower sites, the procurement of plant material and the planting and maintenance of sites.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors on landscape design and installation projects
  • Conduct site analysis and prepare reports on soil conditions, climate, and other environmental factors
  • Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and resources for horticulture and landscape projects
  • Supervise and train staff in horticulture and landscape maintenance and design

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree

    Requirements
    • QUALIFICATION
    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Landscape Architecture or related field from a recognized university.
    • Professional Certification will be an added advantage
    • EXPERIENCE
    • 3 - 5 years of experience in horticulture and landscape design
    • Proven track record of managing plants, soil science, and horticultural practices
    • SKILLS
    • Excellent communication and project management skills
    • Ability to plan, budget, and implement projects.
    • Ability to design and maintain pleasing affordable flower beds.
    • Excellent written and verbal Communication
    • Physical ability to perform manual labor in outdoor settings
