ABOUT THE ROLEThe Handyman will perform a wide range of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks in an office, workshop, warehouse, or operations setting. This role requires a versatile individual with practical skills in various trades, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance. The Handyman will ensure that facilities are maintained in excellent condition and that all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Repairs: Perform minor repairs on building components, fixtures/fittings, appliances, and equipment, including carpentry/joinery, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Utility systems: Administer a daily checklist on utility systems, including generators, electricity, water, pumps, motorized equipment, fuelling, and, where applicable, cleaning.
Maintenance Tasks: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of facilities as per planned preventive, predictive, and reactive prompts, ensuring all areas are clean, safe, and functioning properly.
Installations: Install and assemble electro-mechanical and electronic equipment and appliances, furniture, and fixtures, including desks, shelves, cabinets, etc.
Carpentry Work: Execute basic carpentry tasks such as installing, replacing, and repairing door locks, closers, ceiling and drywall repair/replacement, trim installation, and flooring work.
Plumbing: Troubleshoot and repair plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and fixture installations.
Electrical Work: Perform minor electrical repairs, replacement, and installations, ensuring compliance with electrical and safety standards.
Painting and Finishing: Prepare surfaces and apply paint, stain, or finishes to enhance the aesthetic appearance of walls, doors, and other structures.
Customer Service: Interact with clients, staff, and employees courteously and professionally, addressing any concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment; order or purchase necessary materials as needed.
Documentation and Records: Keep accurate records of work performed, checklists, including time spent on tasks, materials used, and any recommendations for further maintenance or repairs.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Hazard identification and reporting
