Our client, a travelling and tour agency is looking for an experienced individual to fill the role of a SENIOR TOUR PLANNER/EVENTS PLANNER to oversee all work related to developing the itinerary and making plans on behalf of a traveller.
ROLE PROFILE
The successful candidate will be responsible for arranging suitable transportation, building and developing tour itineraries for business and leisure and offering sightseeing advice. He or she will perform the following duties as well:
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate with customers in a friendly and efficient manner.
Capable of making recommendations suitable for unique client needs.
Proven successful work experience as a Travel Advisor or Tour Planner in an established travel company.
Build and develop tour itineraries for business and leisure.
Curate interesting tour programs, and modify itineraries based on clients’ unique requirements.
Update travel guides with pertinent information obtained through research of reviews.
Keep abreast of changing trends in tourist attraction entrance fees and travel advisories.
Develop and maintain business relationships with suppliers including hotels, resorts, airlines, ground transportation & MICE venues.
Proactively handle unforeseen challenges and complaints to determine the appropriate course of action.
Compile and provide useful and competitive analysis to management.
Working Experience: More than 10 years
Education: First Degree

Requirements
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Geography or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years’ verifiable experience in Hotel, Tourism or Travel with at least 5 of those years directly as an Event/Meeting PlannerREQUIREMENTS
- Proven track record developing and maintaining business relationships and strategic partnerships.
- Proficiency with computers, including writing programs like Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Compile and provide useful and competitive analysis to management.
- Ability to work under pressure including deadlines and timelines while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Ability to present, persuade, negotiate and communicate effectively.
- Excellent organizational, time management and improvisational skills.
- Excellent knowledge of travel software (computer reservations systems and e-travel).
- Be proficient in various areas of travel (domestic, international, business or leisure).
- Must have experience working with clients, venues, and suppliers.
- Be proficient with geography and knowledge of Ghana and neighbouring countries including Togo, Benin and Cote D’Ivoire.
