Our client, a reputable company in the minerals industry has immediate employment for a proactive and professional Structural Engineer to help with the operations of the company.
ROLE PROFILE
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of structures, collaborating with contractors, and monitoring on-site construction while ensuring their safety and durability. He or she would undertake the following duties as well:
DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and analyse structural systems (foundations, frames, facades).
Conduct site investigations, soil studies, and structural assessments.
Develop and review construction documents (drawings, specs).
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors.
Perform calculations and simulations (ETABS, STAAD, Revit).
Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Conduct site visits, monitor on-site construction processes and supervise construction workers.
Troubleshoot structural issues during construction.
Create structural models by using computer-aided design software.
Measure loads and pressures caused by environmental or human influence.
Ensure projects meet legal, environmental and health and safety standards.
Oversee project management, like tracking budgets and maintaining a database of projects and their progress.
Perform field visits and write reports detailing project viability and progress.
Deliver structurally sound designs capable of withstanding routine use, the elements, and inspection.
Advise civil engineers on best practices in building design and execution.
Working Experience: 5 - 10 Years
Education: First Degree

Requirements
- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or a related field.
- Must have 4-9 years of working experience in a related field.
- Must have working experience as a Structural Engineer or in a similar role.REQUIREMENTS
- Possess excellent knowledge of construction materials, methodologies, and regulations.
- Must have strong project management, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Must have experience using computer-aided design software.
- Must exhibit good attention to detail with exceptional organisation skills.

- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
