The Advocacy, Monitoring & Evaluation Manager will work in two central elements of the Foundation’s work: (a) advocacy and (b) establishing an effective, well-functioning, integrated Monitoring and Evaluation system.

He/she will produce research and writing in support of the Foundation’s role as a catalyst in the youth development space in making the case for responsiveness and investment into youth development as well as related policy dialogues. The position contributes to:

  • The Foundation’s capacity to produce timely briefs and reports based on empirical evidence
  • Developing and strengthening monitoring, evaluation system and processes to ensure timely implementation, reporting and feedback of lessons learnt from the roll-out out of policies, initiatives, campaigns, and projects into decision making architecture.

  • Education Required: Advanced Degree

    Requirements
    • He/she will have advanced degree or equivalent in statistics or a discipline in behavioural or social science in which statistics is a central skill and extensive experience in the relevant research field, using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
    • Five years of professional work experience in research and public policy preferred but not required.
    • Knowledge of/experience in the advocacy or think tank communities preferably with a focus on youth development.
    • Ability to conduct research and analysis with reasonable speed, sourcing and accuracy on a range of issues, articulate how these interact with the Foundation’s strategic priorities, donor initiatives ad procedures.
    • Strong analytical, oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including strong attention to detail.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience of donor policies, priorities, and processes especially in developing, monitoring and evaluation of projects and programmes.
    • Comfort and reasonable facility with use of databases and online dissemination platforms.
    • Decisive and diplomatic, with strong and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as part of a team.
    • Experience of analysing quantitative data using statistical software
    • Current knowledge of youth development issues, actions, as well as programming policies and procedures in international development cooperation.
    • Proven ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan, and execute ideas, as well as to impart knowledge and teach skills.
