Company description
IEL has been providing environmental and waste management solutions to varied clientele over the last 10 years. We have provided numerous liquid waste management facilities and systems across Ghana. Attached is a pictorial reference of some of our recent projects!
The design concept is the application of anaerobic digester systems to treat liquid and solid biodegradable waste on-site. The design capacity is based on a waste per capita of 10 litres for about 150 people. An average Hydraulic Retention Time (HRT) of 30 days has been adopted to achieve satisfactory decomposition of the liquid organic matter within the existing tropical ambient temperature conditions.
The land required for the various infrastructural elements shall be available at the empty spaces within the project
1.0 Scope of Works
Biogas (Anaerobic) Digester Farm
This shall be the provision and supply of all necessary materials, labour, equipment, tools and the supervision for the construction of a centralized bio-digester farms (see attached drawings) to manage on-site waste. The digesters will be constructed using burnt bricks to form a fixed-dome sub-structure.
At all times, IEL shall provide the technical supervision and labour services during the project execution and will ensure that the project does not slip behind schedule.
IEL fully guarantees the whole system and provides 100% post construction maintenance for the life of the facility to ensure that the sewage objectives are constantly realized.
Civil & Ancillary Works
This involves the construction of effluent management units. The works shall include excavations, plumbing and all associated civil works for an effective site drainage system (e.g. inspection chambers, inlet and outlet chambers and drains, etc)
The major infrastructural development to deliver on the sewage objectives are, but not limited to;
• Establishment of a centralized biogas digester farm to handle all liquid waste (sewage) from the entire area.
(It is assumed that the whole area is already equipped with the sewerage network (by the client) that would enable the transfer of liquid waste from the various blocks to the location of the centralized biogas digester farm. If not IEL can make a separate proposal to undertake such works)
• Management of all effluent from the treatment of biodegradable waste for landscaping and horticultural works within the project area
• Installation of infrastructure for the utilization of the biogas from the centralized digester farm (Cost not included in this scope)
