Three stars after the treatment meted on my mum.
On the 30th June 2018, my mum came for her usual check ups, according to my aunt and son who accompanied her to the clinic, when her pressure was checked, it had shot up to 200+ for this reason the doctor on duty decided to detain her for 2 or 3 hours to monitor the pressure. After about 2 hours, I called my son to check how she was doing only to be told that her pressure kept rising. He then explained to me that my mum had been sitting in her wheel chair since they got to the clinic because the nurse on duty said there was no bed!!! Yes no bed. I asked to speak with the nurse who told me point blank that there was no bed, I then pleaded with her to allow my mum to go home and rest since they had no bed but she insisted that we need to sign a document to that effect. To continue my story, I want to state here that my mum is a stroke patient with a spinal cord problem and has had one leg amputated some years ago. The other leg is virtually useless because the knee cannot bend and she was made to sit in the wheel chair with that leg hanging so painfully for hours on end. How can someone in such situation's pressure be stabilize under such condition and pain? I pleaded with the nurse on duty to talk to the doctor to allow my mum to go home and lie down since they said they did not have a bed, but she would not budge. I then asked my auntie to go and talk to the Doctor personally before finally they got a bed for her. As to how they got that bed, on God knows.

I am pleading with the Clinic Administrator or whoever is in charge of the Cocoa Clinic to try and caution these nurses as to how they treat patients, because if it was their own relative that was brought to the clinic they will move heaven and earth to get a bed for them. This no BED song was what led to the death of a patient some few weeks ago.

I want to state here that my own grandfather and father worked with Cocoa Marketing Board years back, as such my mum and I had been clients of the since the 1974, my own aunt, Mrs. Eninton Gavu had been a pharmacist of the clinic also in the 70's so we are not new at the Cocoa Clinic. Anyway this is by the way.
