A leading Car Rental company with office in Accra, seeks to hire the services of an Account Officer to Perform day to day financial transactions for assigned companies including verifying and ensuring all invoices from suppliers are accurate and posted into the accounting system

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Keep precise records of incoming and outgoing payments for assigned companies
  • Weekly review Account Payable List for management reporting
  • Write Cheques for all payment due and ensure compliance with all payment process and procedures
  • Prepare invoices to NPPCR customers and ensure all quotes are created all branches are moved to actuals in the accounting software on daily basis
  • Issue of VAT invoices for all invoices prepared to client for timely delivery and payment
  • Follow up and collect payment from customers and issue receipt
  • Ensure all payment received either cash/cheque are deposited in the bank account on daily basis
  • Fill and pay of all statutory deductions on monthly basis (PAYE, SSNIT, TIER 2, VAT and NHL/GGETF levy, GTA levy)
  • Liaise with GRA tax for suppliers withholding credit
  • Maintaining Financial records
  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Record payments received from client and update clients’ accounts.
  • Prepare age analysis of debtors and issue demand notice defaulters.
  • Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements of clients.
  • Prepare Bank Reconciliation Statements to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted into the accounting system
  • Participate in financial audits, Prepare or assist with budget preparation
  • Review and implement financial policies
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for utilities, taxes, and other payments.
  • Prepare and process payroll information for assigned companies
  • Ensure all insurance issues are up to date and duly filed
  • Maintain and update Assets Register for the company
  • Ensure all company assets a well labeled
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports as may be directed for audit purposes
  • Manage, disburse and transfer details from petty cash to general ledgers or data processing sheets.

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree

    Requirements
    • Education
    • Degree in Accounting or relevant field, affiliated to professional body
    • Experience
    • Minimum of 3 years in similar field
    • Key Competencies/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
    • IT skills, including the ability to use software packages related to finance and accounting to produce financial reports and financial audits and keep track of financial transactions 
    • Excellent Verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills to settle disputes between different parties involved in transactions 
    • Analytical skills to investigate potential discrepancies in financial records and understand the direction of the business financial health 
    • Problem solving skills to resolve any hurdles that occur while managing budgets and executing financial reporting 
    • Attention to detail to ensure compliance with legal obligations and financial regulations 
    • Able to work under pressure or meet tight deadlines
