Company Profile
Carry out daily pit surveys for model updates.
Establish TBMs at all mining faces.
Undertake regular structural, farm, and topographical surveys.
Set out pit and infrastructural designs for mine operations.
Survey drill holes for blast volume calculations.
Survey exploration drill hole collars.
Demarcate ore polygons for mining.
Ensure regular cleaning of survey instruments after each day’s survey task.
Assist in daily pit, stockpile and compass survey.
Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the supervisor
Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd. (“AGGL”) is a joint venture between Galiano Gold Inc. and Gold Fields. The primary asset is the Multi-Pit Asanko Gold Mine complex, located in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Galiano Gold Inc. are the managers and operators of the Asanko Gold Mine.
A vacancy exists in our Mining Department for the position of: SURVEY TECHNICIAN
JOB PURPOSE
The incumbent will be responsible for using specialized equipment and tools to measure and collect data and other survey activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements
- Knowledge
- A degree in Geomatic/Geodetic Engineering related discipline from a reputable institution.
- Minimum of one (1) years’ post qualification work experience, two of which must be in the mining industry.
- Good computer skills with proficiency in surpac and other related applications.
- Knowledge in basic geodetic and engineering survey principles.
- Knowledge of topographical and underground surveying.
- Understanding of surface mining methods.
- Ability to explain technical data and survey results to non-technical stakeholders.
- Awareness of mining laws, regulations, and safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and be able to set up and operate survey equipment.
- Must be conversant with the Minerals and Mining Regulation, 2012 and related laws of Ghana, and able to interpret and apply these laws and regulations.
- Skills
- Thorough understanding of good survey practices.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to use and troubleshoot surveying equipment.
- Precision in creating and interpreting maps and mine layouts.
- Must demonstrate good communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license.
