We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager/Officer to oversee and streamline critical operational areas, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and alignment with our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will manage diverse operational areas, including but not limited to:

  • Facility, Resources, and Asset Management Operations
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and utilization of facilities and infrastructure on our various campuses, ensuring they are safe and functional.
  • Ensure optimal management and allocation of institutional facilities, resources, and assets.
  • Implement the University’s Operational Protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for effective asset tracking, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
  • Coordinate routine inspections and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance schedules for all properties and vehicles.
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures related to property and resource management.
  • Property Management Operations
  • Manage university-owned properties, including leasing, repairs, and renovations.
  • Handle vendor contracts and relationships related to property and facility management operations and services.
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance schedules for all properties
  • Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs.
  • Monitor property performance and recommend strategies for maximizing operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Vehicle Management Operations
  • Supervise the University’s vehicle fleet, including scheduling, maintenance, and driver management.
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance schedules for all vehicles.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation laws and internal policies.
  • Monitor and report on fuel usage, fleet costs, and operational performance.
  • Develop systems for efficient vehicle allocation and usage tracking.
  • Standard Operations Management Functions
  • Lead and supervise operational staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Implement and monitor operational policies, processes, and systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies, government regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to operations management.

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s / HND

    Requirements
    • A Bachelor’s degree  or HND in Engineering (any field), Business Administration, Operations Management, Facilities Management, or a related field (Master’s degree or additional Professional Certification will be an advantage)
    • A minimum of 4-5 years of work experience in operations management, preferably within the education, corporate, or public sector.
    • Proven experience managing facilities, assets, properties, and vehicle fleets.
    • Strong knowledge of operational best practices, asset management systems, and risk management frameworks.
