  • Reports to: Research Associate
  • Location: Tamale, Ghana
  • Length of Commitment: 1 year (renewable)

  • Position Summary
    The Field Manager will work closely with the Research Associate and will oversee the adequate execution of all field-based data collection activities.

    The Field Manager will perform the following responsibilities:

  • Recruitment, training, and supervision of Field teams during field surveys.
  • Development of training manuals for all data collection activities.
  • Managing finances and tracking field expenditures.
  • Assisting with data reconciliation and management.
  • Piloting and developing instruments with the Research Associate.
  • Managing and tracking survey and intervention equipment used in the field.
  • Accurately evaluating the performance of field staff during recruitment, training, and data collection.
  • Adhering to all IPA survey protocols and ensuring field teams also do the same.
  • Reporting all concerns and issues immediately to the Research Associate.
  • Promptly responding to contact from the Research Associate or other IPA staff;
  • Maintaining good relations with IPA, its employees, partner organizations, and project participants.
  • Performing other work-related duties that may be assigned.

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree

    Requirements
    • Skills or Experience
    • A bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
    • Project management experience including experience in supervising, designing, and implementing data collection and managing large teams of enumerators/surveyors is preferred.
    • Field research knowledge (Familiarity with RCT and other field research methodologies, survey techniques, and data collection procedures is highly beneficial)
    • Fluency in English, Dagbani, Gurune, Frafra and any other of the dominant languages in the survey sites.
    • Excellent management, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Experience working in an international NGO is a plus.
