Job Overview:
We seek a vigilant, detail-oriented CCTV Operator to monitor security camera systems, ensure the proper functioning of the surveillance infrastructure, and assist in maintaining the security network. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing real-time monitoring and surveillance, troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring network stability, and assisting in integrating IT security systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. CCTV Monitoring & Surveillance:
o Monitor live and recorded CCTV footage across multiple locations to detect and report suspicious or unusual activity.
o Proactively respond to incidents by reporting to security teams and escalating potential threats.
o Maintain a clear, accurate, and detailed record of all activities and incidents observed on CCTV.
2. System Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
o Ensure all CCTV equipment is operating effectively, including cameras, monitors, recording equipment, and associated software.
o Regularly check for and troubleshoot any issues with CCTV systems, performing basic repairs or coordinating with technical teams for more advanced issues.
o Perform regular maintenance checks and software updates for the CCTV and surveillance systems.
o Assist in configuring CCTV devices, including setting up IP addresses and managing network configurations.
3. IT Network & Security Support:
o Assist the IT team in maintaining the security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS), and antivirus software.
o Ensure secure network connections and troubleshoot network issues related to CCTV systems, including connectivity and data transmission.
o Collaborate with IT and security teams to integrate CCTV with other IT systems (e.g., access control, alarm systems, and surveillance software).
o Work with the IT department to ensure video storage devices (e.g., NVRs, DVRs, cloud storage) are functioning correctly and data is properly archived.
4. Incident Reporting:
o Compile incident reports based on observations, providing evidence to support investigations.
o Share relevant footage with law enforcement or internal departments, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and company policies.
5. Compliance & Security Protocols:
o Ensure all actions and operations are conducted in line with company policies, privacy laws, and security protocols.
o Maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information observed through surveillance.
6. Data Management & Archiving:
o Manage the storage, retrieval, and deletion of recorded footage in compliance with data protection regulations.
o Monitor storage capacities and ensure proper retention of video records.
7. Emergency Response & Coordination:
o Assist in emergency situations, providing real-time video feeds and information to the relevant departments, law enforcement, or emergency responders.
o Participate in security drills and assist in coordinating responses based on surveillance data.
Qualifications:
1. Education:
o A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
o Certification in security systems, networking (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA), or IT infrastructure (preferred).
2. Experience:
o Proven experience as a CCTV Operator, preferably in environments requiring high security (e.g., retail, corporate, or industrial settings).
o Experience working with IT systems, especially in security monitoring environments, is essential.
o Familiarity with CCTV software, NVR/DVR systems, and IP cameras.
3. Technical Skills:
o Proficient with CCTV software and hardware installation and troubleshooting.
o Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking (IP configuration, firewalls, bandwidth monitoring).
o Experience with IT support, including system troubleshooting, network management, and hardware diagnostics.
o Understanding of video management systems (VMS) and network video recorders (NVRs).
4. Soft Skills:
o High attention to detail and the ability to remain focused and alert over long periods of monitoring.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
