Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the audio and video content of broadcasts via radio, the internet and other mobile platforms. You must be involved in the entire process, from generating ideas to managing the audience response after a programme.
Determine the structure of the broadcast, make everything sound slick, create the playlist, track down interviewees, manage the team and make sure everyone knows what they’re doing.
Monitor audience numbers and tailor shows/programs to meet demands.
Utilize technical skills and expert knowledge of state-of-the-art software, such as Pro Tools and Cool Edit Pro etc., to edit audio samples. You will use your creative flair to conjure up ideas for forthcoming shows, write scripts and make the most of audience-generated content.
Use your organizational skills to brief the broadcast team thus students before each show, handle any problems when they arise and coordinate the nitty-gritty parts of making a broadcast come together.
Leverage your knowledge of media law to obtain permission for the use of copyrighted material.
Set up a schedule for shooting or recording and finding the locations needed for shooting.
Promote Acity Radio and TV programs. This may include developing a social media platform for the project and writing a description of projects for use in promotional advertisements.
Train students to be able to produce a show thus from pre-production to production and post production.
Respond to audience feedback, referring on to other departments as necessary
Keep up to date with current affairs in order that show content is topical and well-researched.
Work together with the studio manager to achieve the objectives of Acity radio and TV.
Qualifications and Experience:Master’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism / Mass Communication
Minimum of 3 years of experience in same role.
