Company description
Environment for Development (EfD) is a global network of environmental economics research centers solving the world’s most pressing environmental and development challenges. We contribute to the effective management of the environment in the Global South through policy-relevant research, capacity development, and policy engagement.
EfD was established in 2007 and today, the network consists of over 200 accomplished environmental economists based in the Global South, with many different specializations. EfD centers are hosted by leading local academic research institutions at 12 locations across the Global South: Chile, China, Colombia, Central America, Ethiopia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Vietnam.

Financial support is provided by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
