Saboba Medical Centre - Ghana

Saboba, the Capital of the Saboba district of the Northern Region, is a rural sub-Sahelian village, on the Togo border. The area of 2,500 miles, has a population approaching 120,000. This a grassland savannah,with acacia and shea trees. The climate is hot and dry, from November to April, with the rainy season from May and October. Due to poor soil and the seasonal supply of water, farming is difficult. Subsistence farming and rural poverty is the norm for the majority of the population.
