The Institution of Incorporated Engineers, was registered under the Professional Bodies Registration Decree 1973, (NRCD 143) and Gazette under Certification Number 23.
The Institution is a Member of the Engineering Council of Ghana under the Engineering Council Act, 2011 (Act 819). The Institution is mandated by the Law to register Incorporated Engineers, Engineering Technologist and Craftsmen in the fields of Mechanical, Marine, Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Automobile Engineering.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
1. To ensure that Professional standards of its Members and the advancement of our local Technical Practices are adhered to and maintained at internationally accepted level.
2. To ensure that its Members maintain a high standard of Professional Ethics.
3. To help keep well defined and effective relationship with other Engineering Institutions for the advancement of Technological activities in the Country.
4. To secure the Maintenance of Professional standards among persons who are Members of the Institution and to take such steps as may be necessary to acquaint such persons with the methods and practices necessary to maintain such standards.
