About the Role
We are seeking a Backend Engineer to independently design and develop modules for our product. As a Backend Engineer for our client, your responsibilities will include backend development and design of the software architecture together with other software developers. You will be required to closely collaborate with other members of the product and engineering team, while contributing to the maintenance of legacy software.
About You
Understand and analyze product requirements and communicate with product team
Write clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
Develop and support software modules including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements, with a bias for documentation
Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure project meets business objectives and compliance standards
Participate in code reviews
Collaborate with cross-functional team to manage critical deliverables
Implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
Engage in production releases, support test and deployment of new products and features.
Working Experience: 5 - 10 Years
Education: First Degree

- What we Look forThe main stacks required are Framework: Django (Rest Framework), Data store: PostgresSQL, CI: GitHub Actions, Infrastructure (CD): Heroku; AWSA minimum of 5 years' experienceYou have extensive experience in developing complex software systems for mobile apps backend environments.Working proficiency to fluency in Python. We employ Django to build out our robust API.Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM) and writing SQL queriesExperience collaborating with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive code to enhance the user experience.We look for developers that can “build and run” services. Therefore, you will be comfortable with dockerising your code, defining standard REST endpoints, adding monitoring, and alerting for your services.Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team membersExcellent attention to detailCritical thinker with strong problem-solving skillsStrong prioritization and time-management skillsSense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s successExperience with fintech or financial services applications built with Next.js.
